Finishing Class
Well, last night was the first of two finishing classes at my LYS. We discussed all kinds of options that we can use while knitting to make finishing easier, more professional looking. LYSO really recommends using sloped shoulder shaping (it's in the Vogue Knitting book).
A couple of gals were ready to do some finishing (I wasn't one of them). Olga needed to learn how to kitchener stitch a hood together on a baby sweater she knit. And Nancy needed to sew a sleeve onto the sweater body.
Anyway, we all got a chance to see Annabella's GORGEOUS 2002 Salt Lake City Norwegian Olympic sweater she made. All I can say is that although she tries to convey that she is a novice knitter, she isn't!!!
For homework, LYSO has asked us to knit little swatches of st st, garter, ribbing (either 1x1 or 2x2) and any shaping or problems that we tend to encounter in our knitting.
I'll keep you posted as to the status of my finishing lessons!
