Still Knitting

Hi everyone! I'm still knitting but not posting very regularly. I've got a new job and a very, very long commute. Therefore, my knitting time has been greatly reduced since I'm spending most of my time behind the wheel of my car. I did attend A Knitter's Fantasy last Saturday, April 14, 2007. I took a triangular feather and fan prayer shawl class and a two-handed fair isle bag class. Both classes were taught by the same teacher and I learned LOTS from her. The shawl has grown by leaps and bounds since last Saturday. The bag takes more concentration and I haven't been able to focus on the technique this week. It's something I need to do in a quiet location where I will not be disturbed. At least until I learn what it is I'm doing. I am also learning how to knit "The Wong Way" by watching the DVD. My wrists don't get as tired knitting the wong way, so I think I will knit that way for all future projects. Well, I better start winding my day down since morning comes awful fast during the week.

Happy Knitting!

I'm Back!!!

Can't believe it's been six months since my last post. That's a really long time. Anyway, I've been knitting sporadically. I'm working on a diagonal "wild stuff" scarf. Started it with the Harbourtown Knitting Circle and am continuing it with the Crooked River Knitting Guild.

Anyway, it's looking pretty good. Will get a pic as soon as possible.

Well, I'll try to post more tomorrow. HAPPY KNITTING, YA'LL!!!!

I cannot thank my Bottle Swap partner enough for all the wonderful goodies bestowed upon me. I only hope that I do as wonderful a job for my partner! Posted by Hello

The coronet hat was a very fast knit as the only detail was the cabled brim (which took me a day and a half to complete). I cast on the brim on May 4 and cast off the finished hat on May 8! One of my fastest knits yet! Posted by Hello

This is the 3rd hat I have knit for Warm Hands Warm Hearts. It is the Coronet hat from Knitty.com's Winter 2003 issue! Originally was going to be all blue but ran out so I finished it with white for the high contrast. Posted by Hello

Well, the pictures didn't load like I had anticipated, so I apologize for the confusion. I am hopeful that I can keep the blog more up-t0-date now.

Here I am!

Since my last post, I have finished another test sock, have started a small rectangular patchwork purse and a crayon box jacket. I have lots of single socks floating around and I need to find them and cast on their mates so I can wear them! Anyway, I am posting pics of the socks that I have testknit. The first one is the January sock for the whenever group on yahoo. The second one is the March sock for the whenever group on yahoo.

What I've Been Up To

Well, you know that I finished the first sock that I was test knitting. Well, another test knitting sock project has come along for a local friend. I'm a little past the ribbing right now, but hopefully Christmas weekend will be quiet and I can do quite a bit of knitting.

Also new on the needles since November, is a beaded shawl (the pattern is by Judy Pascale). I have a few more bead repeats to do before the first garter band. I'm having a blast knitting this!

I am currently trying to make some quilted Christmas pillows for presents this year. Wish me luck. I understand that family get-together is the 18th or 19th and I haven't even cut the pieces out yet. BUT the fabric has been washed and ironed - finally!

I'll try to post more regularly, but as you know - LIFE HAPPENS!
